"A COMEDY, A TRAGEDY, AND A TOUR-DE-FORCE" IN SPADES

It's such a pleasure when a book catches you totally out of the blue....and you are delighted. I had completely no plan what to anticipate when THE FAMILY FANG arrived - the title stroke a chord in my memory of the Muensters. Well, yes, the Fangs are definitely an outre family however the plot is nothing wanting ingenious, spellbinding, and wonderful.
Caleb and Camille Fang are performance or conceptual artists who use their 2 youngsters, Annie and Buster, otherwise referred to as kid A and kid B, as integral components of their items (think of Buster donning a glittery robe and wig to win a beauty contest or throwing himself on the ground of a mall and shoving large handfuls of jelly beans into his mouth when his mother's coat reveals the sweet bounty she has simply shoplifted. Or, think about Annie plucking a guitar string and singing along side Buster in pitiful voices as they sit on the road beside a guitar case with a symbol in it reading, "Our dog wants an operation. Please facilitate us save him."
To the senior Fangs their art is everything no matter the toll it should be taking over their youngsters. however eventually the kids do age and leave home. every tries to form a life and career for themselves, however are unable to create it work. Left with one selection - to come back to their parents' home, Annie and Buster do exactly that. It begins once more with the elder Fangs making an attempt to form performances using their youngsters. But then, quite suddenly, Caleb and Camille vanish at a roadside rest stop. Has one thing dire happened to them or this simply another work of art?
Kevin Wilson has fashioned a wise, witty, fantastic novel, delving into familial relationships, and the way actions or non-actions could have an effect on every generation.
